Conserving Stocks - Wood List Committee

The IPCI-USA seeks accurate information about pernambuco consumption and wood stocks that are already in North America in order to better develop effective programs and policies that will help curb the illegal wood trade.

Our immediate aim is to determine the existing stocks of pernambuco within the US and Canada. Long term goals including the development of an information base connecting those who are looking for wood with those that have wood for sale from existing stocks within North America. We also hope to provide information to makers about quantities of wood that can be expected to come to market in the future, and explore ideas that will help make the most of the wood we already have.

For the present, this committee needs information on how many bows are being made, and how much pernambuco people have in stock. If you are an IPCI-USA bowmaking member, you should have been already contacted. If you are a bow maker and have not been contacted, or if you know of other people who make bows or own stocks of Pernambuco that would not be on our list of IPCI-USA members, please contact the IPCI-USA. By providing us with accurate and complete information, you will be helping us developed plans designed to prevent pernambuco trees from being cut illegally.
